Education Programs for the Sustainable Finance Industry
The Commercial Real Estate National Consensus Green Building Underwriting Standard provides a quantitative CMP Green Value Score indicating areas of increased cash flow and reduced expenses. This directly relates to net operating income, the industry measure of a building’s investment value. The Standard focuses directly on financially tangible attributes that have a direct impact on net cash flow, liability exposure, and an asset's resultant market value.
The CMP Green Value Score identifies these ‘green’ aspects in a way that supports all other underwriting considerations. As an underwriting enhancement, the CMP Green Value Score is particularly valuable when differentiating assets and/or portfolios with “green” attributes that contain superior financial and risk-reduction characteristics from assets/portfolios that upon first inspection might be deemed a ‘market peer’.
